The Family is COMING!!!

Nothing in the world makes me happier than spending time with my family. Everytime we are together it is my own little piece of heaven. Kendall got home on wednesday, Natalie is coming today after a day in the airport and there will always be part of me that wishes Alaina could be coming too. I guess I will have to wait until Christmas where I get the best present of all. Family togetherness and a honey baked ham.

An Ugly Christmas

As many of you may know last night I had an ugly Christmas sweater party. It was so fun! I cannot tell you how great it was to see everyone in these ugly sweaters and how fun it was to think about people actually wearing them. Though the idea of an ugly sweater party is great I must admit I didn't come up with it. I owe my night of fun and laughter to my sister Nat Pat. Two years ago she gave me the idea when she had this great sweater for a party she attended. Ever since that moment the wheels in my mind have been working and planning the day when I could have my own ugly christmas sweater party. Well the day finally came, and it was glorious!
First Gabbe and Anna came over and Gabbe cut and styled my hair. We decided it was time to bring back my full bang and now Natalie and I are SO much alike. To pass the time we played Cranium and ate some holiday treats like fudge, cinnamon pumpkin squares, brownies, and graham crackers with frosting. We had a good time laughing at eachother.

It was such I good time that I am thinking of making one of my new holiday traditions! Merry Christmas everyone! I am looking foward to seeing you all soon!

I've Come to Realize

When I come home at night, and by the time I am ready to go to bed I cannot remember the morning. My days seem so long that by bedtime the morning seems like three days ago. It is so strange but oh well, what can a girl do?

Because I am a Weirde

Ever since watching 5 episodes of Project Runway I have become obsessed with fashion. I want to know the top designers and someday I want to be one. In my search for fashion inspiration I found this coat from Badgley Mischka's 2008 spring line. Ugh I want it so bad! Other favorite new designers include Jill Stuart and Gwen Stafani's L.A.M.B. If you can's appreciate my new love for high fashion atleast it gives you something to do while you sit at the computer for hours. This is the site I have been looking at.HAVE FUN!

Christmas in the Northwest

Why yes, it is almost Christmas. Why do you ask?

Our new tree is HUGE!
In true Wood tradition our halls and house are decked with holly and holiday spirit. I cannot believe that Christmas is actually happening.
PS- Our christmas in the Northwest is not a gift God wrapped in green because we don't believe in having real trees. Dad told me we don't get real trees because he wants me to have something to look foward to for when I get married. That makes just one more reason why I am getting married out of high school.

Memories

Today after school someone's car alarm was going off and I couldn't help but think about How I Met Your Mother. And then I thought about Barney and how his legs wouldn't work and I had an even better laugh. Thanks Natalie for giving us such great TV shows. PS- This is one of my favorites from the trip.

Let's all just take a dump

*I have been busy since I got home from utah.
*Today I got my blood drawn. For the first time I didn't have Mom standing next to me and I didn't even get light-headed! Hooray!
*One more day of school before New York
*We are studying the old testament in the Bible and whenever I hear a simple name like Adam or Dan I start singing "__________ was a prophet first one that we know"
*Tonight Gabbe is coming over to pick cute clothes for New York
*Kristen Bell in Heros is SO creepy
*Speaking of Heros, I think it just keeps getting better and better!
*I love driving
*Last night I was able to fall asleep very quickly because I had nothing on my mind. My homework was done, I knew what I was going to wear the next day, everything was planned.
*I really don't like thematic analysis papers
*I am very excited to go to New York!
*Tomorrow I have: 1 three page paper due, 2 quizes, and 1 test. I am prepared for all of them.
*I had a very productive weekend, can you tell?

BYU

The last few days have been some of the most amazing days of my life. I mean it wasn't the most glamorous, I did sleep on the floor which was not as bad as it seems, but I did have a fantastic time with my sister and cousin.
I met Josh Calvert and let me just say he is as amazing as Kendall has been telling us for so long.
I finally went to the famous J-dawgs. Lets just say the special sauce was interesting. I had a blast. Everytime I am with family I remember how much I love them. I want to graduate and come down and live here SO bad! Why am I only 16! I am so very excited for New York. I will take any chance I can get to be with my family the location is just an added bonus.

Baby-Girl

Sometimes my Dad calls me his "baby-girl". I think I like it.

Moral of the Day

Today Dad and I went to Costco. Of course they had free samples and we went around trying them. We got to the pre formed cookie dough ball things and Dad said "Oh, they come in a shape like that?" Pointed to the dough balls and the lady freaked out. "She said please don't touch those." and started dumping all the un-used cookie dough into the trash can. So do pretend to touch something at Costco because they might think you actually touched it and then they have to waste good cookie dough. Glad we cleared that one up.

Good Day

Two things make for a really good day.
1. Good Hair
2. Good Lunch
(and sometimes a third---cute outfit.)
Today was a good day.

During dinner tonight Dad played some old music of his and we chatted about music and how great it is. It was a lot of fun.
The costume people at school finally decided they wanted my help and after today I think they wished I had been there from the start.
The office is on tonight!
And yes, today I had good hair, a good lunch, and a cute outfit.

The Last Few Days

After a little inspiration from Kendall....
*Monday night we had fried chicken for dinner, It was delicious. The only thing that I forgot about fried chicken is that it makes me sick. Like my stomach is going to explode sick. Good thing I ate it right before my choir concert right?

*When I went out to my car to drive to school on Monday and Tuesday the stars were out. I'll have to admit I was a little late to seminary both days because I stopped and looked at them. This world and beyond is amazing!

*Today in my anatomy we were talking about the bony thorax (aka rib cage) this boy said something like "what about that hole thing in your chest?" and when nobody answered he lifted up his shirt and showed us his nice toned abs and upper body. There was no hole thing to be had but I did have a good time and a good laugh while looking at his bod.

*Yes Kendall the weather is crazy. Yesterday it was 75 degrees and sunny but today it is 45 and raining.

*Right now I feel very overwhelmed by the thought of applying to BYU.

*America's Next Top Model is on tonight!

Come and Be My Friend

Why is it when people are visiting you from far away you have no motivation to blog? I mean when I have someone here to be my friend I am totally okay being away from the computer but once they leave it's like I cling on to it for dear life. I miss you and sorry for not blogging very often, I just have to many fun people that come to visit me and then they leave. So here I am, an only child again and I miss you.

Alaina in Oregon

We had a great time, what more can I say.

One night we bathed Adrie. At first her screaming made me laugh a little bit but when I didn't stop it made my heart ache. The best part was afterward because she was all cuddley and look oh so cute in that towel.

Nothing makes me realize more how much I love than when they are around. I love you all! I am coming to Utah the first few days of November! YAY!

Beauty and the Beast a Latter-Day Tale

Dear Friends let me tell you a little about a tale called beauty and the beast. Someone from our ward was kind enough to bring this video to our ailling mother so we decided to watch it. Lets just say if I were ever to actually read a mormon romance novel this is what it would be like.
A beautiful girl named Belle is working to help her family who has recently lost their mother when her father breaks a priceless work of art at the Beast's house. Everyone calls Eric Landry the beast because he is so rude. We come to know the deeper story of his past and how he became an alcoholic because Belle has agreed to work of her father's debt of breaking the vase. Long story short they fall in love then they break up because another creepy boy thinks that Belle is the one and makes them break up. But in the end it was happy. This is a movie full of cheesy acting, almost emotional moments, and subtle hints that yes indeed it is a mormon movie. Oh the fake crying was the best.
What a great way to spend my sunday night.

Friday and My First Date

Yesterday my alarm went off at 5:18 and my favorite Gwen Stafani song was playing, I knew it was going to be a good day. I brought the cake that I had made for my friend that I had made the night before and her birthday celebration went great. When school was finally over I went shopping with Gabbe on a mission to find a nice pair of skinny/straight leg jeans for New York. Mission accomplished not only did I walk away with the cutest pair of skinny jeans you've ever seen but I also got a really cute pair of brown boots! My first ever pair of boots and I am very excited about them. Next I came home and got ready for my date!
Tom and I met at Gladstone bowling lanes around 6:15. Neither of our six months are up so we had to drive seperate cars. We bowled two games sandwiched in between two other large groups so we really had no where to sit. I was entertaining. I did break 100 on the second game, I was happy about that. Next we drove down to Taco Bell and ate our food and chatted. I had a good time getting to know Tom better. He is a funny kid. After the Taco Bell adventure we decided it was too early to go home so we went to hang out a the dollar store. We had a good time looking at the kitchen supplies. While looking at the goblets I shared with Tom the desire I have always had to try and snap the top of one. A couple minutes later there was the sound of breaking glass. My heart stopped. There was Tom standing with a broken goblet in his hands. I was so shocked! He put the broken pieces down and said "Just walk away.". By this time I was laughing so hard. Like I said, he is a pretty funny kid. We bought our candy and went home to my house and we watched the Italian Job. I only fell asleep for a little bit at the end but I don't think that Tom noticed. When he left I asked him is he remembered when he broke that goblet, we had a good laugh and then he said he'd see me on Monday. It was a successful night. I had a good time just being good friends with him and I hope I can do it more. I did find out that everyone in my ward is still trying to hook Kameron and me up. It is very funny that they take such an interest in it. All we have to do now it wait for Kameron's mom gives her already 16 year old son permission to date. More on that at another time.

Playing Mom

Today my Mom Janny had surgery on her arm. After her being gone for a week in Utah I was getting excited for her to get home. Lets just say I am having a great time because I get to play mom. Last week when she was gone I made pumpkin bread (so good) butterscotch oatmeal cookies (melt in your mouth good) and then Megan and I made stuffed green peppers (delicious). Today I made Taco soup (as good as always) and some more pumpkin bread to finish off the remaining pumpkin. I am loving this cooking thing. Maybe I should consider doing some school work but then again all that will really matter once I'm a wife are my cooking skills so then again I should spend more time in the kitchen.

A letter to a Friend

Dear Britney Spears,
You got your kids taken away. Isn't that sad. Your life must really be falling apart if you can't even get your act together for your kids. What are those kids going to think when they grow up. I think they would say "Mom's a fallen teen star who fell apart when she was upstaged by Christina." I'm sorry Brit but it is a little bit true. You did at one point share a kiss with Madona but look at Christina now. She is happily married and expecting a baby. She doesn't appear to be doing drugs but who knows, maybe in a few years and two kids later she'll be just like you. Atleast you have that to look foward to. I love you girl but you need to get your priorities straight.
All the support in the world,
Mallory

News

Yes friends the rumors are true. Natalie did indeed come to P-town last weekend and we did indeed have a great time. How quickly it went by because it kind of seems like Nat was only here for one night. But never fear I have in my possesion the one and only picture with Nat from the trip. It was a good thing that I finally got my camera to work again.
In this picture you will notice that I am wearing multiple shirts all of which were given to me by Nat on that very night or on some previous occasion. Can you guess how many shirts I am wearing?

Oh on the plus of being an only child, Mom decided to go to Utah without me and it turns out Dad is going out of town too. This will mark the first time they have left me at home alone and I have my liscence. I love having responsibility!

Dear Dan/Harry Potter,

I love you but you have been caught peeking.
I miss Harry Potter and my new obsession with it is to look up Harry on google and look at the pictures.

Today Was My Lucky Day

I was dark outside and it was extremely hard to get out of bed this morning. I had by some miracle managed to get most of the way ready and all that was left was to put on my shoes. I thought a new pair of socks sounded nice so I opened up the pack and there were THREE socks in the pack! Three can you believe it! I got an extra sock---that never happens!

Thoughts For the Day

Today I decided that most of our lives are spent waiting. I mean think about it with me for a moment. Here I am waiting for Mom to get back so we can start a movie, on saturday I waited for my food to be done, this morning I was waiting to see how little my group did on our group project, after school today I was waiting to see if the kids I was suppose to babysit would show up, and I am currently waiting for my ACT scores. Sometimes I think about the soundtrack to my life and I am certain that the Jeopardy theme song would take up atleast half of the CD. So here is my deep question for the day--- Does the waiting ever stop? Is waiting part of what makes us human?

Second let me remind you of two things.

1. There was this one time when Kendall, Nat, and I found the Oscar Mayer weener truck.
2.New York in 58 days
I love you all!

The ACT

The morning started bright and early. Since I decided I didn't need to look good for anyone I didn't shower and it was great! I came down ate my breakfast of frosted mini-wheats and map quested where the test was. Then I was off like wind. I got in the car and funny enough I followed Bryan Ferguson most of the way to the test center. I go there with only a little bit of stress and then I was ready to go. I met up with Bryan S. and it turned out we were in the same classroom. I was suprised how many people were there that I knew, it was really weird. Finally we got to our classroom, of course I was the last number, and the test got started. Long story short I think that I did alright. THere were parts that I felt really good on and then other parts where I had no idea. For a long time Kendall and Rachel have been telling me that science was the hardest part but I thought it was realatively it just had a lot of info to take in in 35 minutes.

After the test I went to Burger King and decided to eat inside. I ended up waiting forever because somehow they had skipped my number. When I finally got it it was delicious. I was so brain dead after the test that it really didn't matter that I waited forever for my food.

TGIFriday

No words can describe it better. I am very tired and very donw with school for the week. It seem weird that I have only been at it for 9 school days because I feel like I have been there forever. Tomorrow I am taking the ACT. AHHHHH!

The Best Feeling in the World

I often complain about having to go running but today I had an epiphany. When you first start running it sucks. I'm not even going to try and sugar coat it because the reality is it is awful. Your joints are stiff, your don't really know where to put your arms, you have to figure out that perfect breathing pattern and stuff. Well after about the fourth or fifth lap around the track you hit a peak or a point where you are totally warmed up. When you reach this point you feel like you can do anything because you are in the zone, over the hill, and ready to go. I can totally see how long distance people run forever it is a great feeling.

Boo. Now new blogs for the day so here is mine.

Music=Poetry

The more that I listen to music the more this seems to come true. For instance this part of the song So Much Love by The Rocket Summer
"Hats need a beat, like awake needs asleep
Like a pen needs a page, to learn right you need a mistake

Oh, yeah

Hearts need a mind, like a clock needs the time
Like white needs black, if you leave I hope you need to come back

Oh, i swear, i know, i believe it
Oh, i can't stop hearing all the singing
Oh, my soul has never had this feeling
and it feels like gold

You got so much love in you
You got so much love in you
I'm amazed that I'm talkin' to you
You look like the songs that I've heard my whole life coming true"

Isn't that the cutest thing ever. I love lyrics that make you smile everytime you listen to them. Then next best thing to that are lyrics that you have to sing along to. You know those songs where just listening doesn't do the trick. Well I want to know what your favorite lyrics are at this moment.

Life, Liberty, and Camping on Labor Day Weekend

What can you say about camping. It is a time filled with no showers and lots of junk food. On friday we drove to the beach, stopped at Moe's on the way (Megan doesn't like chowder), and finally arrived at our campsite in the Tillicum camp ground. We were on a bluff thing that looked out onto the beach. It was beautiful as always.
I discoverd on this trip that it is much easier to get into the dirty thing than you think. It was so nice to not have to worry about showering, washing my face you know stuff like that. Kino discovered what the air mattress was really like and he was on it most of the time. So was Mom but she was reading the Twilight series so she has a good reason. It was a good time had by all. My favorite parts include but are not limited to; Bike rides with Dad, salty meats, roasting Starburst (I had forgotten how delicious starburst are and I find myself craving them a lot), laying in the sun on the beach, reading Harry Potter, and really have nothing that needed to get done. Well summer is now a thing of the past, stay tuned for my back to school blog!

Wishes

As my Dad says...
"If wishes were fishes we'd all have a fry."
Well Dad I am in the mood for some frys and fishes because here is my all new wish blog.

Mallory's Wishes as of the Present August 31, 2007
1.I wish I had a white Kitchen Aid Food Processor
2.I wish that girls were easier to understand and get along with.
3.I wish I had a boy whose parents would allow him to date even though he is already 16 and can legally date.
4.I wish the school would follow what they say and have my schedule posted!
5.I wish I could have unlimited plane tickets.
6.I wish this were my senior and not my junior year so I could get to Utah sooner.
7.I wish I could drive my car to school every day.
8.I wish that Thanksgiving comes fast! WoooHOOO NEW YORK!!!

Well there are many more. Maybe some of them will come true maybe not. I am extremely excited for school to start. I just have a great feeling that this year is going to be totally different than all the others, different in a good way. I'm sorry I had to miss my end of the summer Utah trip but I know we have so many other good ones planned.

Having Too Much Cash Can Be a Problem

I have found that since I have made so much money I have way to much cash in my wallet. (Yes I already put half in the bank) For example I went to Target today and I just felt like I could buy everything just because I had the money to. I really wanted to buy a mini-fridge for my room but decided against it, instead I bought a pedometer (for running) and Fever Pitch, the $4.33 movie special.

My Busy Saturday

Well Friday night I was so tired that I slept great that night, I woke up at 9:00 and decided I had better clean my room before mom and dad saw how messy it was. I cleaned my room and got in the shower and then Gabbe called and asked if I wanted to go to Body Worlds 3 with her. Oh course I did but that would come later. While I was laying on my bed waiting for Gabbe to come and pick me up my friend Lindsay called and asked if I wanted to work at her Dad's wedding for $10 and hour. Never turning down an opportunity to make money I said yes. The only thing was as soon as I got home from playing with Gabbe I would have to come home change my clothes and leave.
Gabbe came and we went off the Body Worlds 3. The whole time the only thing I could think was that the bodies look like beef jerkey. Here we are. here is a picture of one of the bodies. I think he is winking at you.
After that fun trip we were on our way home. Feeling like we needed another adventure for the day we followed signs to an estate sale. It was the weirdest thing ever. It was like these guy's parents finally died and they got all of their stuff out of the drawers and put it up for sale. From our supreme detective skills we put together that the man of the house was a doctor because we found a scalpel. Then we figured out he must have been a cardiologist because we found a bag that was like a cardiologist union thing. Here we are with our purchases. I got a really cool gold tin and Gabbe got two vintage bags.
Next it was off the the wedding adventure. Of course I looked super cute in my new brown dress and wedges. Truth be told it was a little awkward but I got into it. I cut watermelon and bread, I took away plates and empty bottles and glasses. It was a long night but totally worth it. In five and a half hours I doubled all the money I made last week. This is Lindsay and me. It was Lindsay's Dad's wedding.
There was one small price I had to pay for this. I decided to pick fashion over comfort and I now have blisters on my toes from standing up all night in my really cute shoes. All in all it was a happy day, even though I did miss hanging with Kendall. Oh and if you can't tell I have finally been initiated into the digital camera club. I now own the camera that once belonged to Natalie and Kendall. YAY!

Glorious Oregon

I love it in Oregon. I love green, I love rain, I love fresh air, I love blackberries. In the last few days my love for blackberries has grown oh so large. They grow like weeds here, for those of you who don't know, and they are everywhere! If you find the right spot you could pick them for hours. Sometimes they are so sweet they fall of into your hand. Last week I picked just enough and made a blackberry crumble. It was so so SOOO good with vanilla ice cream. I think one of my new favorite things is berries. Berry ice cream, crumbles, pies, cereal---you get the point.

Finding the Motivation to Start Running

This weekend I have started to seriously think about the 10K I am doing with Nat a Thanksgiving, and I realized how on earth I am I going to be able to run that far! Dad and I started talking about the new Nike plus running stuff, you know where you put the chip in your shoe and plug a thing into your ipod and it tells you pretty much all the stuff that a tredmill does, well I was starting to think that I really wanted to invest in this system since by chance I already own a pair of Nike plus running shoes. I got online and I was so excited that I might get this and it turns out it only works with ipod nanos. You know what curse the world because as Alaina could tell you I once owned a nano but now I have a video. I'm not saying I don't like my video, I just wish this worked on all ipod. That is so typical me, as soon as I find something I really want to invest in it doesn't work. Poop I guess I will just have to run and not know how far or how fast I am going. Any suggestions?

SYTYCD Finale!

All I can say is that Sabra is my girl. I love her so much. I voted for he 18 times because 18 is my lucky number. She better win if not the Neil can. Neil is the most beautiful boy alive. I would love to have a couple dates with him. Lacey is not my favorite person in the world but I like her more that I like Danny. When I watch Danny dance I want to vomit in my mouth. And his solo last night I did not understand why it was so great. All he did was spin around the stage. Boo. If he wins I will boycott. Here watch Sabra and Neil to make you feel better.

When I looked up So you think you can dance on google this is one of the images that came up.

Flashback!

Since it seems to be the popular thing to do here it goes....

Let me take you back to January 2006. We were informed that our stake and 13 other stakes would participate in an Oregon Dance Festival. It wasn't the most exciting thing in the world but in the end we had some good laughs and now whenever any of the kids my age in the ward here Greek music we
A.)want to start dancing and
B.)crack up laughing

Yes I am in a blogging mood and yes I am incredibly bored.

A New Guilty Pleasure

Because I got cancelled on twice today to work (aka babysit), I decided to fill my time with lots of television. I was flipping channels and I found my new guilty pleasure called Sand Blasters. The show invites eight teams of sand sculpters to the beach where they have a weekend to do their best work on the sand. To add a twist to the show over the weekend five of the eight sculptures are blown up and they have to start over again. Some of these sculptures were rediculous! I mean they were seriously the coolest thing in the world. My favorite was called the close-minded man. I cannot believe, even in my wildest dreams, that you can make things like this out of sand. Take a look at it.
It's not completely finished but it is the best picture I could find. Missing from the picture is a hand that was holding the needle and thread that the man used to sew is eyes shut! It was seriously the coolest thing ever. I think I might know what I want to do with my life.
